Thank you for being a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. If your membership has lapsed, I hope you will consider rejoining our dynamic community of lawyers, judges, and legal professionals.
For 18 years, I have actively worked with the ISBA and its membership to make the world a better place and to help lawyers thrive professionally. Simply put, my ISBA membership has been one of the best investments in my career.
My legal experience includes working as a government attorney in NYC nearly 20 years ago to becoming an associate rising through the ranks to law firm partnership in Chicago. I also had the opportunity to become a law firm owner/entrepreneur. As an in-house attorney, I help guide business leaders in environmental, health & safety, regulatory compliance, and real estate matters.
As a Board member, I have helped our ISBA leaders advocate for the protection of solo and small firms and the public. I am proud of our ongoing efforts as featured in The Bar News in August 2022. If re-elected to the ISBA Board of Governors (Cook County), I will continue to ensure that ISBA remains fiscally sound and responsive to the immediate needs of members. I also remain committed to helping law students and young lawyers grow their careers during a volatile job market.
Our ISBA delegation to the ABA House of Delegates consistently advocates for solo and small firms, access to justice, and important issues facing the public. In addition, I have voted in support of several resolutions proposed by the ABA Law Student Division and Young Lawyers Division, such as increasing the number of HOD law student representatives, implementing new bar examination standards, and encouraging states to adopt remote administration of the 2020 bar exam. In 2019, the ABA HOD passed Resolution 101A 2019M, which encourages courts at all levels across the nation to provide private and dignified lactation rooms in their buildings. Providing reasonable access to lactation rooms has been a passion of mine for many years, and I was honored to cast a vote in favor of this historic Resolution.
